Rugging up for Wintertime

I love the 80's. Despite the huge hair and ridiculous blue eyeshadow, there are so many trends from the 80's that I want to make a reappearance, and many others which already have, high-waisted skirts and pants....and the latest to show up on the streets of New York..leg warmers. I. Love. Them.
There are some people who may think this trend should stay back in the 80s but I love the way they look and despite what most people think they actually do help in keeping you slightly warmer. Slightly.
I don't think Urban Outfitters has started selling them again yet but I do know that American Apparel is complete with eleven different colours for only $14 each.




Pairing them with converse with coloured tights and a cute dress is becoming hard to stay away from. This week I found myself wanting to pull on the leg warmers with every single outfit, but I stopped myself, making sure I didn't go against my fashion rules of repetition.

Also, anyone who has a good idea for a costume party this weekend let me know, i'm looking for something cute that becomes sexy, like a sexier snow white or something..

james morrison is a sex god
for those of you who weren't aware, hopefully you will be now
his album undiscovered is a hidden treasure...and every single song is even better up close and personal,
plus i saw him in this wicked little venue in nyc that was full of women who see him as an...'dreamboat'? i mean he is, obviously, but still it was funny to see all these mum's in there, and there were no guys there that had not been dragged along by an obsessed girlfriend
the show was opened by jessie baylin who was actually pretty good, but her set was extremely long for an opening act, and the annoyed/anxious/excited buzz of everyone who just wanted to see james morrison could be heard during her singing.
james opened with undiscovered and strummed his gorgeous guitar with a full band behind him who you could tell, were there for the music, and especially the keyboard player didn't care how insane he looked as he played, each one clearly was so into the music making it an unbelievable concert in all aspects,
james had this way of talking to the crowd as well, in his amazing british accent, that gave it the atmosphere it needed

it was indescribable and i never ever wanted it to end

Barney's let me down!?!?!

obviously all my friends living in london have already been down to topshop to buy clothing from the kate moss line, and i heard that it was coming to new york at Barneys, but when i looked, it was such simple clothing, where are the vests? and the flower printed dresses? and the EXCITING clothing. i was quite angry that barneys seemed to only stock a few of the basics.
maybe they'll get more in. but maybe not.

so.. i know its summer but that doesn't mean people will stop wearing jeans, and i've been listening to the controversy following high-waisted jeans for some time, for some reason i'm oddly attracted to them but you have to have the right ones i think, or maybe i'm totally off.

ahh finally, blogger is allowing me to blog again. and so i decided to start with my tagged blog: ok so i'm sure everyone already knows the rules but here they are again

2. my absolute favourite movie is the notebook, i know that basically every teenage girl says that but its my movie, especially since my name is allie as well and i spell it the same way she does in the movie just fyi, lol, and i have cried, actually that's a lie, i have bawled each of the, at least thirty, times i have watched that movie. plus i'm searching for a hottie named noah. haha.



3. my one truly distinguishing and recognizable feature is my big blue eyes, that's usually what people remember most about me.



4. at the moment i'm in love with paolo nutini, james morrison, and andrew stockdale.
paolo for his unbelieveable accent and good looks, james for his lyrics and andrew for his insanely hectic hair. andrew stockdale is the lead singer of wolfmother by the way, best band EVER if you haven't already heard of them. download 'jenny don't be hasty' by paolo nutini. 'this boy' by james morrison. and 'mind's eye' by wolfmother.

it is actually like a sin that i haven't posted in so long, everything just kept piling up on top of each other
and especially now things with my family are a bit rocky but i'm working things out so its all ok,
i'm off to work at the moment, serving coffee to people who demand perfection, oh joy

junior prom..

so i promised to post the picture of my actual prom dress after prom because i didn't end up wearing that gold french connection one so here's the one i wore, its not a big name dress but it was gorgeous and sooo comfortable, i ended up dancing with my date all night long..

and his name is paolo nutini
he's this new scottish singer and he hasn't been around for long so if you don't know who he is already, you basically NEED to find out.
He opened for the Stones in 2006 and his first album
"These Streets" recently came out in America.
He's nineteen, he's hot, and his lyrics are insane.
He's also been called the next James Blunt and been compared to Jeff Buckley.
Basically I love him, and well, you should too.

i love the name of french connection, its like a dare. just begging you to try to pronounce it but everyone always does it wrong hah.

so i went to bloomingdales to buy a dress for prom and i bought this french connection one but once i got home i decided that it wasn't formal enough..and possibly not, well, flattering enough i suppose but here's a picture of it anyway, i actually took it back and bought a different one but i don't want to post the picture of that just yet, i won't even let my date see it, although he's dying to, its like a wedding dress haha.

next top...model?

i have to say so far i haven't found this season of top model to be nearly as good as last years,
i guess its just because there's no uberbitch like gorgeous melrose to make it interesting or anyone as crazy as caridee, although i have to say jael is pretty out there..i loved watching the twins last year as well and how they transformed in their photographs, and as much as i didn't like eugena she always managed to do something that looked really nice like that shot with the bull..
but so far my favourite has to be natasha though..i liked her from the start, i think she's gorgeous and she's quite funny too, not a bitch like renee although renee is actually quite pretty

plastic princess

i love this new twist on aviators, and the thin plastic frame really suits jessica's face here, i've bought pairs in green and blue so far and my friend just bought me a red pair
i'm also very much in love with ray-bans at the moment
so if anyone has good information on where to buy
them please let me know one of my gorgeous friends just bought me a wicked pair of plastic red aviators
they look a bit like this but they've got white stripes on the sides..i don't have a picture
because they were shipped over from australia and for some insane reason no one
does online shopping there so the stores don't have websites..
